"I am not playing this game with you anymore Ada, I am calling in for a MED VAC." pressing the connect button to contact Hunnigan.
" it was barely audible.
"Hunnigan I need a med VAC to this location immediately! Hunnigan did you copy?"
"L...e...o...can...ou...ear...me?" the reception was full of static, the words cutting in and out.
"Dammit!" I needed to get to the roof, but that meant leaving Claire here. Leaving her with Ada was not the ideal choice and moving her was the lesser option, I have no choice. Leaning in close to her ear
"I am sorry it looks like I am going to have to move you after all." Placing the gun back in Claire's holster and the communicator in its pocket, I knelt down to gently place my arms under her limp body. She was so cold and motionless; her breathing was faint.
if you move her she WILL die!" The sound of panic trickled in Ada's voice from her sudden protest.
"Leave her Leon, she won't survive if you move her and unwanted company are starting to gather at the door." The tone of her voice was unreadable, but she was right Claire wouldn't have a chance. The sound of moaning from zombies could be heard faintly behind the door in front of the warehouse. Damn, we had lingered too long and now the stairwell is blocked that leads to the roof.
"I am not leaving her with you!"
"You do not have many choices left Leon, leave her to get help or use the serum." She was cautious using her neutral tone.
Positioning myself to get in proximity of her ear and gently bracing her head on my arm, I softly touched Claire's face. Hoping she could hear me
"I know what we are fighting for and under different circumstances this wouldn't be an option at all, but I need you Claire. I need you in my life and I will do anything to make that so. Please forgive me when you do wake up and know I did it because
Reaching into the pocket of my jacket I pulled out the serum, which surprisingly was not damaged in all the fighting. Staring down at the thing I was fighting so hard to destroy, was now going to save the most important person in my life.
"Ada, step away from us this is between Claire and me," giving her an unwelcome glance to leave.
"Very well... inject it where she was injured." She turned her back and walked a few feet away to give us privacy.
After I made sure she was far enough away I tore away the part of her shirt, which covered the wound now clotted from old blood.
Uncapping the needle
"You will be OK, I promise Claire
*bang bang* Consistent gun fire echoed in the hallway behind the door; quickly getting louder and closer...
